Friends and family are still in shock after the death of a Texan couple in a helicopter crash just hours after their wedding.

UVALDE, Texas – A young couple from Texas was killed on Saturday moments after their marriage.

The Houstonian, newspaper run by students at Sam Houston State University, was among the first to announce that Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler were killed when a helicopter at the time of their marriage crashed at the north of Uvalde.

The Uvalde police received a call from an aviation monitoring center around midnight on Saturday, informing them of the possibility of an aircraft north of the county. ; Uvalde.

Several agencies, including Texas DPS soldiers, game wardens, border police patrols and the Uvalde Fire Department helped the police search for the plane. Police announced that the accident had been located shortly after sunrise on Sunday.

DPS and the Federal Aviation Administration continue to investigate the scene. The NTSB said the incident involved a Bell 206B, a two-bladed twin-engine chopper.

A spokesman for the Uvalde Fire Department confirmed to KENS 5 that several people had died in the accident.

A wedding website, created on The Knot, contained only one statement Monday morning: "Our deepest condolences and sincere thoughts accompany this family for their great loss.We know that both families appreciate all your love , your support and your kindness during this period ".
