Special strikes
The season opener between the Dolphins and Titans was delayed twice due to bad weather, but they were determined to finish the fight. Jakeem Grant did his best to get the score down for the Fins, allowing him to earn 101 passing yards and leave Miami a fourth quarter lead.
The Dolphins started to move away when Ryan Tannehill joined Kenny Stills on a bomb field. The 75-yard liaison was made at the expense of Malcolm Butler, who was roasted by Stills in individual coverage.
But the Titans have also managed to get a punctual contribution from the special teams. Darius Jennings cut the Miami advantage by half in a 94-yard return, giving Tennessee a boost.
New city, even Brandon Marshall
Brandon Marshall is in a new uniform (again) after being cut by the Giants after last season. Now, with the Seahawks, Marshall made a good first impression on Seattle fans. The veteran veteran had a Russel touchdown in the second half of the first game of the Seahawks season.
He probably felt a little softer for Marshall, who also played his first game in Denver since the Broncos traded him in 2010.
Malcolm Butler introduces himself
Malcolm Butler has escaped the Patriots 'touchline and is now a central part of the Titans' high school. He announced his arrival in the first game of the season in Miami, winning Ryan Tannehill for his first interception as a Titan member. It was a good reminder that Butler is no stranger to the end of zone interceptions.

Ty flies high
Tyreek Hill is fast and he used that speed to get started fast this season. Like, a quick and exhausting start.
First, Hill returned a first quarter quarterback to 90 yards to give the leaders a quick lead. It was the first touch of the season for Kansas City, and if you blink, you may have missed it.
Then Hill hit once more when he crossed the center quickly and used that speed to clear his way to the end zone for a 58-yard TD reception. It was the first career touchdown for Patrick Mahomes.
Hill also made this weird and acrobatic take.
In total, Hill built 179 multipurpose yards in the first quarter.
He would continue to add another touchdown on a small shovel pass that allowed Hill to sneak into the end zone. (This is the second time the Chiefs have managed to play this game in the end zone today.) He crowned it all with an impressive backflip celebration.
Flash finish
Josh Gordon had a quiet day when he returned to the Browns, at least until the end of the fourth quarter, when he had a decisive touchdown. Gordon Moss is a defenseman who took his first catch of the day, a pass that helped Cleveland capture the Steelers late in the game.
Tyrod Taylor tried to get back to Gordon to set up the winner of the game on the Browns, but this result was much worse.
Saquon is going
Saquon Barkley clinched his first touchdown in his first NFL game in Sunday's first game of the Giants. It was also a moment of excitement, as the former Penn State rider won a 68-yard run – smashing multiple tackles en route – to bring the Giants within reach of the Jaguars in the fourth quarter.
Hands display
You want to see beautiful contacts? Ok, I've got it.
Jimmy Garoppolo earned his first pass of the season thanks to Dante Pettis.
And here's Andy Dalton unleashes a red rocket field to find A.J. Green for a long connection to touch.
And without doubt, the best choice of the weekend (so far) goes to Antonio Brown for this bad catch.
Ryan Fitzpatrick? OK then!
The Buccaneers turn on the Saints defense in the first period and Ryan Fitzpatrick leads with three touchdowns in the first two quarters. After his bomb at DeSean Jackson, Fitz ran for a TD – and punished a security in New Orleans.
Then, the former Harvard officer also won his second TD pass with Chris Godwin.
Fitzpatrick then added a fourth and a fifth TD in the second half. First, he hit Mike Evans with that 50-yard shot.
Then the fifth TD went into another long strike at DeSean. What a day.
Answer the bell
James Conner himself started his second season in Pittsburgh. Beginning in the place of The Veon Bell, Conner tears him up against the Browns. He has nearly 100 yards on the ground with two touchdowns (including the big 20 yard rush below) and has also had an impact on the Steelers' passing game.
That's the kind of performance that makes it a little easier to swallow Bell's absence.
Browns are on the board
Ty-Rod? Tuh-Rod? More like Ty-god.
The quarterback of the Browns finally appealed to Cleveland in the second half and he did it with his legs. Taylor attempted a 20-yard touchdown – his first as a member of the Browns.
Elite Connections
Joe Flacco is wasting no time making friends with his new targets in Baltimore. Flacco found veteran Michael Crabtree at the back of the end zone and Crabtree made an excellent game to push back the blanket and keep both feet in their arms.
Flacco also added touchdown passes to John Brown and Willie Snead, who were also free agents in the off season. It looks like the veteran quarterback is taking advantage of his new weapons in the passing game.
Bless them, Jarvis
Jarvis Landry has his first official nail as receiver Browns … and he used two hands! Landry managed to make the most of a Tyrod Taylor subjet by retrieving it and pulling it from the air around his lap.
Kirk's first strike as Vike
The Kirk Cousins Era is officially launched in Minnesota, and the start is pretty good! The new Vikings quarterback sent a great touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs for his first game of the season. The points at Diggs to cap it with a solid touchdown dance. Mid-season form all around.
Bengals go to Bengals
Well, the Cincinnati Bengals could not do a single quarter without a dirty move to start this season. Security Shawn Williams was ejected in the first quarter of the season thanks to the helmet's blow to Andrew Luck. Williams was hit with a targeting call and rightly sent to the showers early.
More like Jackson De-Gone
It's week 1 and we have word games! Ryan Fitzpatrick made a good start to Tampa Bay this season, when he found fast DeSean Jackson with a 58-yard touchdown, even with the Saints at the start.
Brady-to-Gronk connection still strong
If the relationship between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski was worrying after a fairly dramatic off-season in New England, it looks like all is well. Brady connected with Gronk just minutes after the first quarter opener of the Pats season against the Texans on Sunday. It was pretty vintage.
