NFL Rumors: Lions Sign Bruce Ellington and Release Ameer Abdullah | Bleacher's report

The Detroit Lions sign their receiver Bruce Ellington and give up half-strike Ameer Abdullah, according to a report released Tuesday by the NFL Network. Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport noted that Detroit had been exploring the Abdullah trading market before last week's NFL trading deadline, but no deal has been reached.

A second-round pick in 2015, Abdullah turned heads with 597 yards rushing, 183 receiving yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season. However, he was unable to take advantage of this performance as he had only two games because of a foot injury in 2016.
