Pittsburgh Steelers midfielder Le Veon Bell is still not signed for the second week of the 2018 NFL season.
This is bad news for the Steelers, and for fancy footballers, wherever Bell's delay would end before the start of the regular season.
But this is not the case. Bell has refused to sign his dealership and loses nearly a million dollars a week that he does not report to the Steelers.
This was the second consecutive year of training camp at Bell and the pre-season for a contract dispute. But in 2017, he went to Pittsburgh in time for the first week of the season.
No luck this year, leaving the Steelers, who should be fighting for the AFC title, in a very delicate situation. The players want him back, but they are also crazy that Bell has not reported.
Meanwhile, the Steelers front office insists it will not cancel the franchise offer and will not put Bell on the market.
Bell is an athlete who changes his franchise. He has run at least 1,000 yards in three of the last four seasons, including the last two in a row.
He is also a weapon in the passing game, with at least 75 receptions in three of the last four seasons.
