NFL Week 1 2018: Choices and Predictions

[ad_1]

The NFL season has finally arrived after months of waiting, and it's time to make some choices about who will win their match of week 1.

The NFL schedule is always fun to analyze and predict. Which teams will start in force? Which teams are going to be in an early hole? Which games will be most important when we return?

Of course, all the prognoses in the world mean "squatt". We will all be wrong in one way or another and, in my case, in many ways. Still, it's fun to pick the games, and you're here to support my choice to win your team this week, or to laugh at me for neglecting their great talents.

Okay, let's start this holiday.

All lines are courtesy of OddsShark.

Atlanta Falcons to Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5)

The Eagles defend champions and deserve respect. Once again, every year is in itself, and Philadelphia plays with a reserve quarterback in Nick Foles, Championship and all. The Falcons probably have the best league lineup, and with revenge in their mind, I feel the minor mishap.

To choose: Atlanta 23, Philadelphia 21

Tampa Bay Buccaneers in New Orleans Saints (-9.5)

It's the biggest line of the week and for good reason. The Saints are stacked with game leaders and a quarterback of the Hall of Fame. The Buccaneers trot on Ryan Fitzpatrick with a little racing game itself. Tampa Bay has a better team than many people know, but it's not good enough here.

To choose: New Orleans 31, Tampa Bay 20

San Francisco 49ers to Minnesota Vikings (-6)

Everyone loves 49ers. San Francisco is the fashionable choice in many corners because of the beautiful Jimmy Garoppolo and a quality head coach at Kyle Shanahan. This will remind us that the Vikings are a complete team with years to mature on the vine, which San Francisco must do before reaching its level.

To choose: Minnesota 27, San Francisco 19

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens (-7)

Nathan Peterman starts for the bills. He started once and launched five interceptions all at once before being shaken. This time, Peterman will play better, but he will still lose in Baltimore against a much better Ravens team than announced.

To choose: Baltimore 19, Buffalo 13
