Week 3 of the 2018 NFL season has arrived!
It is officially time to dive weekly into the points and the betting lines around the sport. This means choices and predictions for the entire slate.
With a new week, we're sure of the following: fantastic football, cheering on your favorite team and, of course, taking a look at the gaps to make sure you're on the bright side of every result.
Consider this as a one-stop guide for choosing each game (or at least the majority) correctly.
New York Jets at Browns Cleveland (-3)
Thursday, September 20th at 8:20 pm
I know Sam Darnold is a rookie quarterback on the road for a short week. I know the Jets inflicted self-inflicted wounds Sunday against the Dolphins. I know the Cleveland defense has been pretty good. I also know that no sensible person can place points with a Browns team that has only won one game since the start of the 2016 season. MY PICK: Jets.
Saints from New Orleans to Atlanta Falcons (-3)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
New Orleans looked mediocre in each of its first two games, but the Falcons highlight the best of Sean Payton's team. Michael Thomas makes the final game in a tight match. Take the points. MY PICK: Saints.
San Francisco 49ers to Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
Get ready for a shootout! Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City attack seem unstoppable for two weeks. The 49ers fought, but the Chiefs' defense has holes that Kyle Shanahan will exploit. Kansas City could go to 3-0, but it will be a match to a possession. MY PICK: 49ers.
Oakland Raiders in Miami Dolphins (-3)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
Oakland is not * that * bad. Miami is not that good. It's like being in a week where things are getting better. Derek Carr (29-of-32) is the toughest day of 90%. MY PICK: Raiders.
Buffalo Bills to Minnesota Vikings (-16.5)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
It's crazy to ask as many points in a game until you remember two things:
-Minnesota is a dominant team, especially in his own building
-Buffalo is a disaster right now and about to bring a rookie quarterback into one of the toughest environments of the sport. MY PICK: Vikings.
Indianapolis Colts at Philadelphia Eagles (-6)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
This is a funky line. Last week, the Eagles-Bucs were not shocked by Philadelphia's injury and inability to defend against Lincoln Financial Field. When Carson Wentz returns, an energetic crowd in Philadelphia paves the way for a rebounding victory. It will not be a rout like so many Eagles victories last year, but expect a slight gap. My shot: Eagles.
Green Bay Packers (-3) at Washington Redskins
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
Green Bay has the best quarterback and a better team, but that seems like a deadly point. After consecutive divisional home games, the Packers must travel and play in a stadium that lacked atmosphere when the house opened. Take the points in a surprisingly tight game. MY CHOICE: Redskins.
Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers (-3)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
I am not typically a "what is the line saying?" dude, but this one says. Despite 10 days of rest and a better record, the Bengals are dogs at this place. Carolina's defense will play and Christian McCaffrey will be the difference in a low-scoring, low-scoring match. MY PICK: Panthers.
Tennessee Jacksonville Jaguars Titans (-6.5)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
The Titans rebounded with a division victory last weekend, but they seemed far from impressive. It's a nightmare against a team that can intimidate weak opponents. Jags win – big. MY PICK: Jaguars.
Denver Broncos at the Baltimore Ravens (-5)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
Jump on this line. Baltimore is a much better team at home than on the road, with 10 days of rest and facing a paper tiger in the Broncos 2-0. Add in a 13:00 The departure of the traveling team of AFC West on the East Coast and the recipe for a two-point win are there. My shot: Ravens.
New York Giants in Houston Texans (-6)
Sunday, September 23 at 13:00 is
The loser of this game is cooked. It's hard to come back from 0-2 and make the playoffs, but it's almost impossible to do 0-3. Houston has underperformed at its talent level, while the Giants seem to be out of control. The Houston defense comes to play, forcing Eli Manning to another low-scoring week. My shot: Texans.
NFL standings
Los Angeles Chargers to Los Angeles Rams (-7)
Sunday September 23 at 16h05 east
The Rams seemed to be the best team in the NFL in the first two weeks of the season. We knew the offense would mark, but a dominant defense emerged. On Sunday, we will begin to discover if this was more revealing of true talent or opponents (Raiders, Cardinals). The Rams will win, but do not be surprised if the Chargers put points on the board. MY PICK: Chargers.
Chicago Bears (-6.5) at the Cardinals of Arizona
Sunday, September 23rd at 4:25 pm
Call me crazy, but this line is too big. Chicago has just come out a week and must travel. Arizona has Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson. Will the cardinals win? Probably not. But I will take the points and I expect the cardinals to show some pride this week. My shot: the cardinals.
Dallas Cowboys at the Seattle Seahawks (-1.5)
Sunday, September 23rd at 4:25 pm
Seattle is currently in a bad lane and looks like a non-competitor again. Dallas is 1-1 on the back of a better defense than expected. The Seahawks are bouncing, the local crowd is making a difference. My shot: Seahawks.
New England Patriots (-7) at Detroit Lions
Sunday, September 23rd at 8:20 pm
The era of Matt Patricia starts badly in Detroit. With a win they desperately need, the Lions get the worst match possible in the third week: The Patriots lost. My shot: the patriots.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Monday, September 24 at 8:15 pm
All the signs indicate that the Buccaneers accumulate a ton of points in a team of Steelers in full boiling, but I just can not believe that this Pittsburgh team will turn to 0-3. The Steelers are winning it on a late score and a turnover. MY PICK: Steelers.
Last week: 7-9
Season: 15-16-1
