Jalen Ramsey has insulted more than his share of the other NFL players, but with his claim that he could form an NHL team in just six months of training, the cornerback of the Jacksonville Jaguars' professionals has ventured on new territories.

Ramsey's comments in an interview with ESPN The Magazine not sitting well with many NHL players.

"I think it's insulting to our league," Buffalo Sabers center Jack Eichel told ESPN. "I think it's ridiculous to say that, it's ignorant."

It might be a little harder to say how Ramsey realized he had never skated before, and John Tavares of the Toronto Maple Leafs said:

New York Rangers winger Chris Kreider has not dismissed the idea that Ramsey can play in the NHL, but he insisted, "It would take much more than six months," because learning to skate is a skill in itself.

What sets Ramsey apart from most NHL players is its ability to promote itself.

Last year, Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche won the NHL Most Valuable Player vote. He wondered what could happen if someone, like Ramsey, had an NHL shot.

"It's good for the NFL, for someone to go out and talk like that. This attracts a lot of attention," MacKinnon said. "If it happened in hockey, it would make the sport a little more popular, and we would take it."
