The phrase refers to an attempt to prevent someone from earning money, the opposite of slang "securing the bag".
The rappers were seen leaving Harper's annual evening Bazaar Icons of New York Fashion Week, when some participants documented Cardi B screaming, throwing a shoe and being restrained while he was attempting to accuse Minaj.
Cardi B was escorted to the outside of the event and then posted a profanity note on Instagram explaining what she had said.
On Thursday, Minaj posted on her Instagram account photos of backpacks, a t-shirt and a jacket with "Nicki stopped my bag".
After the altercation, Minaj attacked Cardi B on his "Queen Radio" show on Beats 1.
"You're angry and you're sad, it's not funny," Minaj told his rival. "Get help from this woman.This woman is at the top of her career and she throws shoes?"
