They are called the "Honorary Oscars" for a reason.
Celebrities arrived with style at 2018 Governors' Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles for a dinner and awards ceremony celebrating some of Hollywood's most talented names. Although the winners of the Governor's Awards were announced earlier this summer, the stars are gathering a few months before the Oscars. According to the awards ceremony website, some of the highlights and highlights of the night are being reeled at the main Oscars ceremony.
This year's winners include Marvin Levy, Lalo Schifrin, Cicely Tyson, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. The 2017 winners were Charles Burnett, Owen Roizman, Donald Sutherland and Agnes Varda.
Oprah Winfrey was just one of many names to post pictures and tributes inside the show. She shared an Instagram photo of herself alongside Cicely Tyson and Shonda Rhimes. "Here at the Governor's Oscars, celebrating royalty! Ms. Cicely Tyson has been receiving an Oscar for a long time! And yes, it's the Anita Hill who stands behind a chair!" she wrote.
