Nicole Kidman avoided talking about her eleven-year marriage with Tom Cruise. Seventeen years after the couple's separation, we still do not know exactly what caused them to break up.
But in a recent interview, Kidman touched on one aspect of their relationship she had not talked about before: how being married to a powerful man prevented her from experiencing the kind of sexual abuse that more and more of women in Hollywood speak.
"I married very young, but it was certainly not a power for me, it was a protection," said the actress, an actress, at the age of 50. The Cut of New York Magazine in an interview published Monday. "I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man prevented me from being sexually harassed."

Kidman and Cruise, who have two children together, met during the shooting of the 1990s "Days of Thunder" and got married the same year, when she was 22 and he was 28 years old.
The two parted in 2001, Cruise citing irreconcilable differences. In 2003, Kidman won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in "The Hours". She married country singer Keith Urban in 2006.
