MOSCOW – Nikita Krylov, a light heavyweight UFC, admits that her departure from the promotion last year was a money issue.

After a loss to Misha Cirkunov at UFC 206, the figures for a new contract offer were lower than Krylov was willing to accept.

"Maybe because of my loss, and maybe because I overestimated myself," said Krylov (24-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC), who will face Saturday Jan Blachowicz (22-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) at the UFC Fight Night. 136, told MMAjunkie via a translator. "But I lived to come back, and I'm very happy to be back now."

Krylov has already stated that the requirements of constant overseas travel have also played a role in his departure. Eventually, he tired of adjusting time zones and letting his family do it.

Now that he's back, co-starring in an event near his home in Ukraine, he could not be happier.

"I left the UFC to become more famous in Russia, and it's a dream come up with an event in Moscow," said Krylov, whose fights are taking place on UFC Fight Pass at Olympic Stadium.

After having beaten on the international circuit, Krylov is eager to make a splash at the top of the division.

"I'm pretty sure Daniel Cormier (or not) is coming back, (Blachowicz) and I are one of three people who will win the next title," he said. "And I'm sure it's going to be me."
