According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm was in effect in 11 New Jersey counties on Wednesday night.

A dangerous weather outlook was in effect in the rest of the state.

According to the National Weather Service, the risk of heavy storms in New Jersey Wednesday increased one day after heavy rains and floods besieged the state.

According to Trent Davis, an NWS meteorologist, there is now a "one in three chance" that windstorms reaching 50 km / h reach much of New Jersey on Wednesday night. Floods could become a bigger risk as up to 4 inches of rain fell on Tuesday (see total rainfall below).

The National Weather Service even described the storms as severe, painting New Jersey in a red sea around 8 pm:

According to the National Meteorological Service, some of the storms could be severe with destructive winds. In addition, some storms during this period may produce heavy rains, resulting in localized floods, mainly in poor drainage areas.

Davis said the worst storms would arrive after 8 pm

Flooding continued in the Princeton area one day after the roads closed and a number of rescues were carried out on the streets of New Jersey, particularly in Hudson and Bergen Counties.
