The Irving fires in the Samuel P. Taylor State Park in Marin County are 115 acres in size, officials said Tuesday morning.

At 8:30 am, the fire had been contained at 25%, according to Marin County fire officials.

Residents of Mount King Road, Portola Avenue and Alamo Road to Barranca Road were still being evacuated.

Marin County spokeswoman Laine Hendricks said dozens of structures were still under threat, but the threat is down.

According to the Red Cross, two people stayed in the Lagunitas school evacuation center overnight while several others were sleeping in their cars or motorhomes in the school car park.

The school had planned to be open Tuesday, but enough students and staff had been evacuated so that administrators could close the campus for the day, according to county fire officials. Marine.

The residents of San Rafael, Fairfax and Geromino will experience moderate air quality today and smoky conditions, the authorities said.

It is not uncommon for wildfires to occur in the area as summer dries grasses and other plants into open spaces, Hendricks said.

Residents of Lagunitas-Forest Knolls were encouraged to be alert to any orders from the Marin County Fire Department or Sheriff and to monitor the local media for updates.
