Schoolchildren who refuse to be vaccinated against measles and rubella will not receive their annual test report in the district of East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya district, said one official today.

"I asked the district school education officer to order all schools not to publish the results of annual examinations of unvaccinated students against measles and rubella and to present the same request for a new admission, "Peter S. Dkhar, District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills, told me.
The directive has been issued since the measles and rubella vaccination campaign in the district registered a very low number, with many students refusing it in schools.
Mr. Dkhar, who is also chair of the district immunization working group, said the results would be published only after the parents had submitted in writing the reasons why their children were not allowed to administer the vaccinations. vaccines.
The Khasi Students Union and the Khasi Jaintia and Garo People's Federation have expressed strong opposition to the government's directive that it violates student rights.
Nearly 4 lakh of 13 lakh children aged 9 months to 15 years of Meghalaya were vaccinated against measles and rubella.
Compared to the 10 districts, East Khasi Hills, which is central to the state, recorded the lowest percentage of vaccinated children.
