Nominations for Best Workplaces for 2019 List Begin Today

CLEVELAND, Ohio – We're getting ready to light 10 candles on the best workplaces in the birthday cake in northeastern Ohio. Celebrating a decade in which we honor the best companies, we are also planning a special event for the winners of the best 2019 workplaces this year, which will coincide with the special section. More details on this subject to come.

But, hey, it's not about us. It's about you, the local business community, and the people for whom you think are the best companies in northeastern Ohio. Let us hear your nominations for the 10th Anniversary section of this year.

The best locations for the 2019 regular dealer seek to recognize the employers in the region who are doing the right thing. It's an opportunity to pay tribute to those who create an environment and culture in which workers feel respected and rewarded, and where those same workers feel like they could enrich their skills while contributing to a mission in which they believe.

In the coming months, we will be accepting nominations from candidate companies and interviewing thousands of employees to determine the top 150 workplaces in northeastern Ohio, including Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina. Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne Counties. Any company, government agency or non-profit organization with at least 35 employees in these countries is eligible.

Here's how it works:

Anyone can name a company. The consultant of the Plain Dealer, Energy contact the designated organization. To appoint an employer, go to cleveland.com/nominate or call 216-373-0585. The deadline for appointment is January 18, 2019.

Once a company is named, it is the employers themselves – and not The Plain Dealer, Cleveland.com or Energage – who decide to participate or not. The results are based on the number of employees responding to the survey who agree with statements such as "I feel really appreciated by this company" and "My salary is just for the job I'm doing ".

There are about two dozen questions in all and surveys take about five minutes to complete. Investigations take place from late January to mid-March. Energage conducts surveys of the best workplaces with more than 50 major metro news agencies, such as the Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer and Newsday.

the results of the survey, to published on June 16 will list the top 150 winners and explain what they think contributes to their success.
