For the first time in 50 years, # 75 will be back on the field for North Texas Mean Green.
The school released a video showing Joe Greene's legendary "Mean" advertising defensive line player for the announcement. It shows UNT LaDarius Hamilton junior defensive end who inspects a North Texas helmet at his locker before Greene arrives and throws him a jersey with his retired number.

"Hey kid, try this one," says Greene, 72.
"Wow," says Hamilton. "Thanks, Mean Joe."
Hamilton was chosen to wear Greene's No. 75 just for Saturday's game against Louisiana Tech because his leadership, player and defenseman's abilities best represented what Greene was on the program, according to a spokesman for the team. .
The North Texas uniforms will be reverse versions from the time Greene played, and the game will be preceded by the unveiling of a statue of Greene, All-American at school in 1968 before a career at the Pittsburgh Temple Steelers.
"For over 50 years, Joe Greene has had a tremendous impact on our university and our sports program," said sports director Wren Baker in a statement announcing the statue. "As a footballer, as a former and regent, he has made a significant contribution to this campus and has given a great honor to the Mean Green family.
"He is one of the greatest defensive linemen in the history of football and he is one of us, and we are very pleased to recognize Joe's accomplishments and contributions with this statue. . "
Prior to the game, North Texas (4-0) will also host a grand opening ceremony of its new indoor practice center.
