Here is the summary of the APs:
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AP) – Ian Book grabbed three touchdowns and pitched two more, while No. 8 Notre Dame defeated Wake Forest 56-27 on Saturday.
Book replaced Brandon Wimbush in the starting lineup and scored 25 of 34 passes on 325 yards with touchdown passes covering 3 yards at Brock Wright and 7 yards at Chase Claypool, as well as three short sets of points.
He helped Fighting Irish (4-0) more than double his previous season's record by scoring a total of 566 total yards, surpassing the previous record in the middle of the third quarter.
Prior to this, Notre Dame had not scored more than 24 points in a game, and his wins against Michigan, Ball State and Vanderbilt totaled 20 points.
Jafar Armstrong had 1 and 30 yards passing and Tony Jones Jr. added a short set of points for Fighting Irish, who will have his best start since 2015 in next week's showdown with 7th Stanford.
Matt Colburn had a 2-yard touchdown and Nick Sciba scored two field goals for Wake Forest (2-2), who lost two games in a row. First-year player Sam Hartman was 12 of 24 out of 110 yards and out after hitting hard in the middle of the third period.
THE TAKEAWAY
Notre Dame: Too bad for this quarter controversy. It seems that the work belongs to Book, whose only previous departure was last season in a defeat of North Carolina and led the rally that led to a victory over LSU in the Citrus Bowl. Coach Brian Kelly played the card in the days leading up to the game, claiming that his two-quarters were playing. But as points and yards continued to accumulate for the Irish, Wimbush never saw the ground and never even removed his baseball cap.
Wake Forest: The defense of the demon deacons has been exposed again. A group vulnerable to the big game gave up another handful at the wrong time, a list led by the TD Armstrong race and a 66-yard run by Michael Young who set another score. Inability to continue to prevent explosive games made it impossible to win the program's first win against a top-10 opponent since 1946.

There does not seem to be a charge that the running back Notre Dame, Tony Jones Jr., can not bear.
The junior lost more than 10 pounds on his 5-foot-11 turn in the summer after playing 230 pounds in a 2017 injury season. He eliminated snacks and unhealthy foods, started yoga, and lost a second of his 40-yard play time to share his duties with former student Jafar Armstrong and others during the pre-season.
Last Saturday, Jones made his first career start and won 17 races for a total of 118 yards – his first college effort of more than 100 yards – and led Fighting Irish (3-0) with 56 yards. receptions in a 22-17 victory over Vanderbilt.
"I have the impression of being back in high school, having a lot of portages, just reppin 'and all that," said Jones, who rushed for 232 yards rushing the floor. last season, including 59 yards in a 48-37 win. on Wake Forest, the opponent of this weekend. "I'm back – I need five races to go."
Choices and Predictions of Week 4
Jones' first five shots against the Commodores were 55 yards, including a 19-yard run to kick off the game and two 14-yard attempts. This production followed a 61-yard performance, two touchdowns in Notre Dame's 24-16 win over Ball State, leaving an impression on the coaching staff.
"(Jones) started racing with a behavior and state of mind he was not going to face," said coach Brian Kelly. "He put that into practice." He runs physically (and) catches the ball coming off the pitch, he will be a big plus and he will continue to be an asset to us. "
Jones, who leads the Irishman with 224 yards and averaging 5.7 yards, sees no problem with him sharing scopes with Armstrong, a converted 6-foot-1 receiver, 218 pounds that started the first two games and of course with quarterback Brandon Wimbush. Against Vandy, Wimbush had 84 yards on 19 carries, while Armstrong had 46 yards on 11 carries while the Irish rushed for 245 yards per season.
"Jafar is fast and physical, I am fast and physical," Jones said. "So choose your poison, I will not worry about anyone starting … Brandon (running) spreads the defense a bit further."
Last season, with All-Americans Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey helping Josh Adams, the Irish averaged 269.3 yards in the race (seventh in the country) and 6.3 in the race. This season, with three linemen in the new places and Adams now with the Philadelphia Eagles, Notre Dame averages only 164.7 yards (76) and 3.6 per run.
"We are still trying to get rid of the problem, to be honest I think we will find it very soon," said Jones, who expects the Irish to be "very balanced and deadly".
Kelly agrees with the backtracking by the committee.
"I think we'll continue in this direction where these three guys are going to have multiple portages," Kelly said. "We only touch the surface in terms of where we can be."
