The founder of TDP, NT Rama Rao's granddaughter, N. Suhasini, who will participate in next month's elections at the Telangana Assembly, received Saturday the support of his brothers and popular actors Telugu, Junior NTR and Kalyan Ram, as well as veteran actor and actor N. Balakrishna.

Suhasini, the daughter of the late N. Harikrishna, is a candidate for the Kukatpally constituency in Hyderabad as a candidate for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Harikrishna, leader of the TDP and former minister and former MP, died in a road accident on 29 August.

Balakrishna, Junior NTR and Kalyan Ram are likely to campaign for Suhasini in Kuktpally, a constituency with a large number of "settlers", as the inhabitants of Andhra Pradesh generally call it.

Accompanied by Balakrishna, Suhasini went to NTR Ghat on Saturday to pay tribute to his grandfather before applying.

"I am entering public life with the blessings of my grandfather, my father and my uncle and I am looking for women's support in Telugu," she told reporters.

Balakrishna said that Suhasini will pursue his ideals. He called people to support her in the same way as TDP. He urged the youth, supporters and party personnel to unite to secure Suhasini's victory by a large majority, saying it would be the best tribute they could pay to Harikrishna.

Meanwhile, the junior NTR and Kalyan Ram also expressed their best wishes for the victory of their sister.

They said in a joint statement that the TDP was a sacred organization for them because their grandfather had founded the party with the belief that people were a god.

The young actors stated that their family felt that women should play an important role in society. "Our sister wants to serve the people with the same spirit and we wish her every success," they said.

The TDP, the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, is contesting the Telangana polls, allied with Congress and two other parties.

Elections to the 119-member Telangana Assembly are scheduled for 7 December. The TDP has been awarded 14 seats under a headquarters sharing agreement in "Mahakutami" or grand alliance led by the Congress party.

TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu chose Suhasini as the party's candidate in Kukatpally, a seat won by the party in the 2014 elections.
