Noting that the upcoming elections are not for the White House, Obama has pointed to the tendency of some voters to stay away.
In his major speech, Obama continued to criticize the need for people not to "take our rights for granted" while targeting elected Republicans.
"Republicans in Congress right now … they have no control over the White House. They go out of their way to protect … people from scrutiny and responsibility, "he said. He went on to say that people across the political spectrum "should be concerned about the current trajectory of this country," apparently taking a subtle blow to President Trump.
