Ochsner Health System has opened a new center on its Jefferson Highway campus to treat children with developmental disabilities and physical delays such as autism, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and ADHD.
The Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development is located on the existing Ochsner Pediatric Campus, at 1315 Jefferson Highway, next to the Ochsner Children's Health Center. The center was funded in part by a private donation from Boh Bros President Robert Boh. Construction and his wife, Ann. The center was named in honor of their son Michael, who suffered from cystic fibrosis, hearing loss and mental health issues until his death in 2009, at the age of 23. .
This is the first phase of the center. The center will continue to expand its services and programs in 2019 and beyond, according to a press release.
