Officials in South Carolina said the pilot of a tandem plane that crashed into the ocean was in critical condition.
The media reports that the small plane fell into the ocean off the coast of Myrtle Beach on Monday afternoon.
The head of the Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Services, Tom Gwyer, said that a good Samaritan had taken the pilot out of the plane and brought him down. Gwyer says the pilot was taken to the Grand Strand Medical Center and is in critical condition. Officials say the pilot was the only person on board.
The spokesman for the Myrtle Beach International Airport, Kirk Lovell, said that he did not know if the plane was coming or going from the Myrtle Beach airport.
