A large crowd chanting "murderers" and bottles thrown at the Chicago police guarding the scene where an officer was shot dead by officers Saturday night in the South Shore neighborhood.
Chappel Avenue shortly after 5:30 pm and took the victim, an adult man, to Jackson Park Hospital, where he will be declared dead, said Larry Merritt, a spokesman for the fire department.
