OLATHE, Kanata – Police in Olathe were looking for a suspect in the 119th and Monday area in Ridgeview and captured it shortly before 4 pm.

Earlier on Monday, the police did not say why the suspect was wanted, but said it started with a traffic control in another investigation. Sgt. Logan Bonney said that the suspect and another person had run away and that shots had been fired at some point.

Police arrested one of the two people who were in the car shortly after the traffic stop. The other has escaped.

The Olathe School District stated that Washington elementary schools, Santa Fe Trail Middle School and Mahaffie Elementary had been put on preventive watch while officers were looking for the suspect. The Farmer & # 39; s Insurance building was also under lock and key.

Although the police did not confirm that the suspect was the same man involved in several robberies committed in Olathe convenience stores late Sunday early Monday, he has many similarities with the suspect in the photos released by the police. See the photos below.
