MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik – September 29, 2018) The first United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 5, 2019 and return to Earth on April 16, 2019, The launch program of the ISS, shared with Sputnik, showed.

According to the document, an astronaut will fly to the ISS aboard the Russian space shuttle Soyuz MS-12.

It has not yet been determined whether Hazza Mansouri or Sultan Nayadi will participate in the mission. Both astronauts qualified for this and began training in Russia earlier in September.

An astronaut from the United Arab Emirates will travel to the ISS as part of the crew of Russian cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka and US astronaut Christina Koch.
