On National Coffee Day, Dunkin Donuts prepares to launch a new beer

For most coffee chains, National Coffee Day is a chance to attract customers with a freebie. At Dunkin Donuts, the company is starting to want a beer more and more.

For the second year in a row, Dunkin Donuts will be introducing a collaboration with a brewer around coffee-time holidays. On Monday, Dunkin and Harpoon Brewery will unveil the Dunker 'Coffee Porter, which will incorporate Dunkin's Espresso Blend Coffee.

The 6.5% ABV beer will be available on October 1st in six packs and in casks across the country. (However, it will not be sold in Dunkin Donuts stores.)

The beer is loaded with aromas of roasted malt, but the espresso appears clearly and ends with a hint of chocolate. And it's clearly a beer for fall.

A year ago, Dunkin (who will soon be calling Beyonce and Adele under his first name) joined the Catawba Brewing Company to create the Dunkin 'Punkin' Bowl Ale, a beer beer, with pumpkin and cold aromas, which used the flavors of Dunkin. This beer, however, has not been distributed – and is only available at Catawba's four tasting rooms in North Carolina.

Dunkin has also experimented with Wormtown Breery in Worcester. It is believed, however, that it is the first time that it has published a beer at the Dunker 'nationally.
