Opposition Wins Election of Maldives: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Electoral Commission

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Maldives opposition leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won the presidential election, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Twitter on Monday.

The ministry cited provisional figures from the country's Electoral Commission showing that Solih won by a margin of 16.7 percent over outgoing president Abdulla Yameen in Sunday's elections.
