The decision to close it comes as the popularity of Netflix continues to grow.
It added seven million new customers in the three-month period ending in September, bringing its total to more than 137 million.
House of Cards, another of his original successes, will also end after a final season starting in November.
The latest episodes of Orange Is The New Black are expected to air in the summer of 2019.
