Our NFL predictor thinks this pick will end Thursday night misery

Welcome back to Skid Row, where Mr. Thursday Naught’s skid reached 10 in a row with last week’s loser pick of the Panthers (+4) at the Steelers.

The pick looked good for a couple of minutes, when the Panthers marched right down the field and scored to take an early 7-0 lead. But thanks to my superhuman antipotent powers, it mutated into the weekly descent to hell. Ben Roethlisberger had a monster game (five touchdowns), and the Panthers gave up 52 points to match a franchise record for futility.

This week’s doomed pick is Seattle (-2¹/₂) over the Packers. The Seahawks are playing well despite a two-game losing streak — against teams that have a combined record of 16-1. They have a potent running game that can keep Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense off the field. And they have arguably the most intimidating home-field advantage in football.

On the road, off a short week, in a building that has delivered nothing but heartbreak for the Packers in the past, the Seahawks are the pick.

If you look at my track record and follow my advice anyway, well, good luck with that.
