Bats only need a space as small as a fingertip to get to the inside of the house.

Weed biologist and expert Andrew Cole saw it all and seized it all.
On Tuesday, he showed photos and videos of WSOC-TV bat colonies inside houses in Matthews and Waxhaw, North Carolina.
"I've probably done 40 to 50 jobs since March," he said.
The television station met Cole at Mint Hill while he was inspecting a house infested with dozens of bats.
Cole indicated that removal restrictions are in place to ensure that bats are not trapped inside houses.
"You want to give the baby time Bats must mature to have the ability to fly and at this point you can expel them properly. "
The restriction will be lifted in two weeks when bats begin to migrate. Until then, there is nothing alarming that families can do.

"The biggest threat they represent to people is the potential exposure to rabies," Cole said.
According to WSOC, state records indicate that eight bats have been captured in the Charlotte area since May 2017. [19659006] Cases are rare — but still enough reason to worry all families who are stuck with bats the rest of the summer.
"People get pretty hysterical," Cole said.
Having a bat expert for your house could cost between $ 300 and $ 3,000. If you have a problem, you only have eight months left before the bats begin to return.
Bats are not the only animals to watch for now.

While we were interviewing Cole, he showed us a Copperhead that he caught recently outside of a pool at Matthews.
This is a good reminder to keep looking at the ground because the snake season is not over until October.
