Packers defy Rams but Rams rallies to 8-0

The Los Angeles Rams did not look like the huge Super Bowl favorite on Sunday, but the Green Bay Packers still could not enjoy it.

The Packers played hard and may have played their best game of the season. And it was not enough. The Rams set up late training to get a spot and a lead, and then a special team fumble allowed Aaron Rodgers to miss a chance to bring back the Packers.

The Rams have won 29-27 and are 8-0, the last unbeaten NFL team, and the Packers are disappointing 3-3-1.

Los Angeles created the only big game needed to seal the win, and he was not one of his many stars in attack or defense. After the Rams kickoff, linebacker Ramik Wilson hit keeper Ty Montgomery hard and the ball jumped. The Rams recovered and were able to run to the clock.

The Rams have set the bar very high and a win against a team as good as the Packers is very good, no matter how it looks. But they looked beatable for the first time this season. The offensive has had some tough times, even though it was well defended and played well in the second half. Rodgers played big games against Los Angeles defense. The Rams faced a 10-point deficit, their biggest win of the season, and also lost in the fourth quarter. And yet, they walked on another victory.

The packers started quickly

The Packers played well, especially during most of the first half. In the first quarter, they held the Rams aimlessly, the first time in 13 quarters. They did it with excellent coverage and a lot of pressure in the middle of the blitzes. The Rams simply could not succeed, which did not happen very often in the season.

A bad call from the Packers allowed the Rams to return to the match. Green Bay was relaunched on his own starting line, and instead of trusting Rodgers out of the hole, they cleared the center. The Rams have the best game of NFL defensive attacks. The race was crammed into the end zone for more safety, then the Rams took the free kick and scored. The Packers went from leader 10-0 to 10-8 almost instantly. This call to play was imminent at the end of the game.

The Rams warmed up afterwards. They took a 10-point lead in the third quarter. It looked like they had just defeated another opponent and won an easy win, but Rodgers found Green Bay in the match.

Rams gather in the fourth quarter

The Packers took a fourth quarter lead over Rodgers' 40-yard touchdown pass at Marquez Valdes-Scantling. It seemed that the Rams could suffer their first defeat, in a strange situation as the Los Angeles Coliseum vibrated with the Packers fans. One could say that if the Packers were true Super Bowl contenders, they would have found a way to finish, but they have not shown this season that they are the kind of team that can win a Super Bowl.

The Rams did enough to win. Aaron Donald had a big bag in third just before his team left for a winning methodical practice. The attack is set up and Greg Zuerlein has managed a 34-yard placement to give the Rams the advantage. The immense success of Wilson finally ended it.

The Rams seemed a bit beatable Sunday. But they still have not been defeated.
