Celebrities, especially those who survived a sexual assault, continue to show their anger at Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh, who was approaching a lifetime appointment at the country's highest court Friday.

Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins said she would support the judge, who was elected accused of sexual assault, while the upper house of Congress voted in favor of closing the debate and sending his candidacy to the assembly for a final vote.

During his 40-minute speech, Collins stated that the candidate deserved a presumption of innocence against the charges against him because of his sexual allegiance. This idea has troubled the feathers of many celebrities.

In a series of tweets, Padma Lakshmi, host and chief of Top Chef, who revealed last month that she had been raped at the age of 16, expressed her frustration and reminded his supporters that Collins was to be reelected in 2020.

"Do we really, as a country, constantly protest against the election of a pedophile (Roy Moore, who lost the seat of the Alabama Senate of Jeff Sessions) or a sex offender (Kavaugh) ( sic), both supported by Trump, "she tweeted. "Is this really the best you have with @GOP? Where are the moderates? Where are your spines? It's so (silly) embarrassing."

Novelist Stephen King, one of Maine's most famous exporters, urged Collins to vote no when Kavanaugh's nomination will be announced Saturday.

"Susan Collins says she will vote for Kavanaugh's confirmation, in part because the man who lied repeatedly at his confirmation hearings told him that he considered Roe as a" well-established law. "Senator Collins, there is still time to change your mind and make the right decisions."

Comedian and writer Christian Spicer also tweeted about Collins.

"To all women looking to run and take the @SenatorCollins seat from her, you have my support 100%," he tweeted. "His legacy will be all hate, supporting the grotesque and helping to revive the civil rights and rights of women of a generation.

Other stars traveled to Washington to attend a protest on Thursday, including Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski, who were arrested.
