EVERETT – In 2019, Paine Field will launch commercial flights to ten cities in the west of the country, according to an environmental study conducted by the FAA on Saturday.
Alaska Airlines will serve Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, Orange County and Portland. United Airlines will serve Denver and San Francisco, and Southwest Airlines will serve Las Vegas and Oakland.
All travelers will depart from a new $ 40 million two-door terminal built by Propeller Airports.
The new terminal is expected to be completed by the end of October, according to Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports.
Smith also anticipates that passengers will be able to start booking flights early in 2019.
The FAA announced the environmental review in June to take into account additional flights from Snohomish County Airport.
The 2012 review measured the environmental impact of only 12 daily flights.
The draft environmental assessment was released on Saturday.
During the review, the FAA did not observe any noise or air quality issues with additional daily flights departing from Paine Field.
The public can comment on its findings until November 2 as part of a public comment period.
A public hearing and information workshop will be held in Lynnwood on October 29th.
