Pakistan and China sign agreements to strengthen ties in economic and social sectors
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China signed on Saturday more than a dozen agreements and documents aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in multiple areas including the economy, agriculture, the maintenance of order and technology.
The documents were signed during Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to China during a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People where the two prime ministers also held a bilateral meeting.

The two countries have signed memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the fields of forestry, earth sciences and poverty reduction.
The two sides also signed letters on the strategic dialogue mechanism of foreign ministers to establish comprehensive planning and co-ordinate cooperation in various fields.
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou then told the media that both sides agreed to move decisively along the Sino-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while ensuring the smooth operation of completed projects and advancing progress. current projects.
"The two sides will gradually mark the dimensions of industrial cooperation with the CPEC and extend it to other parts of Pakistan, so as to promote the development of Sino-Pakistan economic cooperation," the minister added. .
Noting any change in the number of projects under the CPEC, he said that the number of projects in this framework had not changed, adding: "If any change were to occur, there would be an increase in the number of projects. and ongoing projects. towards the front.
The Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the two countries had decided to establish a working group on social and livelihood issues through the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee.
He added that the two sides would also engage in close cooperation in broad areas such as the economy, trade, science and technology, cultural affairs, education and youth .
Kong noted that the two countries would also strengthen their communication and coordination on regional and global affairs, in response to current economic and fiscal challenges facing Pakistan, adding, "China will provide assistance and assistance in limit of his abilities.

The Pakistani side reiterated that relations between Pakistan and China were the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy and that Pakistan remained committed to the friendship between the two countries and pledged to advance the CPEC.
