Pamela Anderson qualifies Australian Prime Minister's comments

LOS ANGELES – Pamela Anderson criticizes the Australian Prime Minister for making "naive and useless comments about a woman expressing her political opinion."

The star of "Baywatch" has invited Prime Minister Scott Morrison to bring WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to Australia on "60 minutes" this month. The Australian citizen sought asylum at the Embassy of Ecuador in London in 2012 in order to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he faces allegations that have then been abandoned.

Morrison rejected the request. But Prime Minister added that he had "many friends who asked me if they could be my special envoy to solve the problem with Pamela". A government official described the remark as "mild".

Anderson issued a letter Saturday in which she called Morrison's remarks "disappointing".
