And tonight on 60 Minutes, Pamela Anderson has invited journalist Liam Bartlett to her new home in the south of France to eventually send her strongest political message to the other side of the world.

Speaking directly to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, she asked that he bring back Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, to Australia.

"Okay, Scott, get his passport back for Julian and bring him back to Australia and be proud of him," she says.

"And throw him a parade when he gets home."

Assange remains locked in the Embassy of Ecuador in London as a political asylum seeker.

Suspected that he was leaving, Assange would be extradited to the United States to face possible espionage charges for the disclosure of highly sensitive confidential information to the United States.

But Anderson is adamant that Assange needs to be saved and is campaigning to free him from his new seaside home in the south of France.

"I feel closer to him than a lot of people have touched," she told Liam in an overview of tonight's interview.

"He trust me."

Despite the public release of his boyfriend, the French football player Adil Rami, a member of the World Cup football, in mid-2017, it has long been speculated that the relationship between her and Assange was romantic.
