Panic! at the Disco paid tribute to Queen with a lively live version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" at the 2018 American Music Awards. Singer Brendon Urie performed the interpretation of Freddie Mercury's impressive original voice during the performance, broadcast live from Sydney, Australia.

The singer began by singing and playing the grand piano, his group completing the arrangement of complex vocal harmonies. They remained true to the original title – from the dynamic ballad-rock turn to Brian May's melodic guitar solo. Urie added a theatrical touch to her performance, standing on top of the piano during the hard rock section – moments after skyrocketing to the top of her register on the "for me" line.

Panic! At the Disco, which is now essentially the solo vehicle of Uriah, was nominated for the Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock at the ceremony. The sixth panic! LP, Pray for the bad guy, is the second consecutive singer to debut at Number One's Display panel 200 after 2016 Death of a single.

Uriah recently released a video for the single "High Hopes," which he played live with string and brass musicians in August at the 2018 VMA.

Next biopic of the queen of Bryan Singer, Bohemian Rhapsody, released in theaters on November 2nd. The soundtrack of the film, released October 19, includes unreleased recordings of the group's 1985 Live Aid concert.
