There is still a week left in the season, but the Oklahoma City Thunder may already be about to panic.

The Thunder clocked a 16-point lead at half-time on Thursday night and lost 101-95 against the Boston Celtics, falling to 0-4 for a worst start since the franchise's relocation to Oklahoma City in 2008. Celtics made a bad start off the game on a 16-1 run.

Paul George hit a pair of free throws to give the Thunder 94-85 the advantage with 4:22 to go. Oklahoma City then missed its last 10 shots on the court, limited to one free throw the rest of the way.

"We'll be fine, it's early," said Westbrook. "There is no need to panic, of course, we do not start the way we want, but everything will be fine, I will make sure of that."

Jayson Tatum and Marcus Morris each hit two free throws, before Kyrie Irving hit a short rider and Tatum made two more free throws to bring Boston back to 94-83. After Steven Adams made a free kick for the Thunder, Irving scored twice to tie the game at 95.

After a break, Morris then buried a 3 to place Boston at 98-95. Boston scored three of four goals from the starting line in the final seconds to seal the win.

The lack of shooting in Oklahoma City, a major pre-season concern, resurfaced at the crunch on Thursday night. Thunder came into play, shooting 39% of the area as the team and 36.3% of the distance of 3 points.

The Thunder shot 39.4% against the Celtics, including 7 out of 28 long range. George scored 22 points, a top in the team, but fired 7 times out of 22 from the ground and 2 out of 10 from the depth. Russell Westbrook had 13 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, but got a total of 5 out of 20 and missed all five attempts by 3 points.

The Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers are the only remaining winless teams in the league.

"There are 78 other players, for us it's one game at a time," George said. "Tomorrow we'll bury this game once we've watched the movie and get ready for Phoenix, take it one day, one game at a time."

The end was all the more discouraging as the thunder had started so well. Oklahoma City took a 50-34 lead at the break, beating Boston 31.8% in the first half and 0-11 on a 3-point gap.

The third quarter was a complete reversal of roles.

Gordon Hayward sank a 3 on the first shot of the third. Boston managed to hit another 8 in the frame, shooting 58.3 percent from the ground and 9 out of 14 at long range.

Al Horford scored 11 points in the third, including three straight in 40 seconds to cut the Celtics deficit to 70-64. Morris paused in the race at the last minute of the quarter to give Boston its first lead of the game at 74-73 before the fourth.

Boston beat Oklahoma City 40-23 in the third quarter.

Tatum led the Celtics with a record of 24 points. Morris had 21 points and 10 rebounds on the bench, Horford added 19 points and Irving 15.
