CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have re-examined their depth at the offensive tackle with another trade, by acquiring veteran Marshall Newhouse of the Bills in exchange for a future draft pick choice.
Carolina made room for offensive striker Corey Robinson, acquired Lions the same day. Robinson played three times in a row in the first game of the season.
Newhouse was selected in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Texas Christian Packers. Carolina is his sixth stop in the NFL: after playing for the Packers for four seasons with 31 starts, he spent one season with the Bengals, two with the Giants, one with the Raiders and the first three games of the 2018 season.
Newhouse started 15 games in the attack for the Raiders in 2017. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Packers as a rookie on the injured list, and then started 13 games left for the first time. Green Bay team in 2011 games for the 2012 team. He had only appeared on special teams for the Bills this season.
All in all, Newhouse played 103 games with 70 starts.
