Paramount Pictures will present Hailee Steinfeld's "Bumblebee" on December 8 in North America – 13 days before the opening of the "Transformers" split.
The studio announced the screenings Wednesday, two days after Amazon and Atom Tickets announced that they were offering Amazon Prime members a first and exclusive showing of Warner Bros. "Aquaman" on December 15th. "Aquaman" will open in front of "Bumblebee" 21. Disney opens "Mary Poppins Returns" two days earlier.
Customers who purchase a ticket for the first screenings of "Bumblebee" will also receive a Transformers Toy: Tiny Turbo Changers Movie Toy from Hasbro. The sessions will take place at 7 pm
The studios have chosen to go early on the headlines during the last year. Amazon, Atom Tickets and Sony teamed last December to broadcast "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" and generate $ 1.9 million in the domestic market. Warner Bros. has recently generated $ 1.8 million through the first screenings of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 13 and 14, in 600 venues before the movie theatrical release.
"Bumblebee" takes place in 1987 in a seaside town, where the character Steinfeld discovers a yellow Volkswagen torn by battle and broken and revived. The film is also performed by John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon and Stephen Schneider.
"Bumblebee" is the sixth installment in the Transformers franchise, which has generated $ 4.3 billion in global sales since the first film in 2007. It is produced by Travis Knight and written by Christina Hodson.
