Paris Hilton wedding with Chris Zylka: "It will never happen"

Relatives of Paris Hilton were not shocked to learn that the heiress and reality TV star ended his engagement with fiancé Chris Zylka earlier this month.

"This wedding would never have happened," said a source at PEOPLE. "They never had an engagement party and Chris's parents never even met the parents in Paris."

Although Hilton had previously told ZOPHAR that she and her husband had postponed their nuptials to 2019 because of their hectic working lives, the source says the couple has never been reprogrammed.

"They have postponed the date of 11/11 without a new date," says the insider.

The source continues: "This does not surprise anyone. Paris wanted to get married ([siblings] Nicky and Barron Hilton are both married) and she just did not think about the wedding party. It would never work with Chris.

A second insider told PEOPLE that Hilton had ended his engagement with Zylka "a few weeks ago" after "realizing it was not good for her".

"The relationship has evolved very quickly," adds the source. "She travels the world for her care and fragrance. She wishes him all the best and hopes that they will be able to remain friends.

Hilton decided not to fulfill its commitments when PEOPLE met the star in August 2018. "11/11 has never been a fixed date," said the star of reality TV. "It was right, 11/11 is something I like a lot because I always say, 11: 11, make a wish for good luck." So Chris was like, "Oh, let's do 11/11. This is a special number for you. "

She continued, "I was like yes, but I did not look at my schedule. Then, this summer, we looked at our schedules and I thought, "Oh my God, we are both working without interruption until the New Year."

In the end, Hilton said that marriage was something she and Zylka did not want to rush into. "We are working a lot and have decided that it would be better to postpone it until next year," she said. "With all the planning, I want it to be perfect and you can not rush into something like that."

Even though the couple did not go into the details of the wedding planning before they separated, Hilton managed to find her dress.

In April 2018, Hilton told PEOPLE that she had found her wedding dress after going through all the workshops with her sister Nicky Hilton during New York Fashion Week. "I chose the last one!" She said.

"It's so iconic and I can not wait for everyone to see it. At the moment, we are making this product so that it is really special, "she explained. "We've looked at many options because I'm friends with many incredible and talented designers. It was therefore a really difficult choice, "added the heiress.

Hilton and Zylka announced their commitment on January 2, 2018, after Zylka offered it in Aspen, Colorado, on a ski trip over the New Year's weekend with a stunning pear-shaped sparkler of 20 carats and $ 2 million.

"I was so excited and surprised! I immediately said yes! Hilton said at PEOPLE at the time. "The ring was so beautiful and sparkling. I was shaking while putting it on. It's the most beautiful ring I've ever seen!

The pair first met an Oscar night eight years ago, but did not reconnect for two years. Hilton formalized its social media connections last February with a favorite Instagram post.
