Passengers on board a Mesa Airlines flight operating under the name of United Express, from Arlington, Va., To Houston, Texas, had to deploy via the zipper. emergency after the detection of smoke in the cabin. The flight was flying for takeoff from Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport when the crew noticed smoke.
Passengers were quickly disembarked. Fire trucks and ambulances were on the ground to meet them
No passengers were injured during the evacuation, authorities reported.
The source of the smoke is not known. The aircraft is currently inspected, confirmed the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority
The airline issued a statement to Fox News:
Mesa Airlines flight 6122, operating under United Express, was evacuated safely. We are currently studying the cause and are working with our team to secure alternate flights for onboard customers.
