Patrick Mahomes could have ketchup for life if he can break a season record with 57 touchdowns this season.

Heinz Ketchup, who used "57 varieties" in his ad, tweeted the promise to Mahomes on Thursday after the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback entrusted ESPN's Seth Wickersham with his love of the condiment, even putting him on a steak .

ESPN contacted Heinz for an additional comment.

Mahomes recorded 31 touchdowns this season, setting the franchise record for the Chiefs in one season with 10 games. Peyton Manning holds the record of an NFL season for the number of touchdown passes with 55 in the 2013 season.

Mahomes told reporters Thursday that he would be willing to share the wealth if he was getting ketchup for life.

"I'm not opposed to it," he said, when asked if he would like ketchup for life. "If that happens and I get ketchup for life, I'll be sure to share it with some of the offensive linemen."

Mahomes also said Thursday that he liked putting ketchup on another favorite dish when he was asked to put ketchup on a steak.

"I do not think it's so strange, but I've put it on my macaroni cheese.People seem to think it's strange. Some think it's disgusting, but that's Is good for me, "he said.
