When the chiefs needed him the most, Patrick Mahomes gave birth.
Kansas City did their best to lose the game in the last race, but the second-year quarterback refused to let him. There is no quarterback left in the NFL, but Patrick Mahomes is apparently ambidextrous. With Von Miller in pursuit, Mahomes returned the ball to Tyreek Hill, which was quite open for a first try.
After the first fall, the Chiefs lost 20 yards to finish with a second goal and 30, before Mahomes saved them again.
Mahomes saves Kansas City with two big shots after heavy penalties
As he drove away from the Broncos' hurry and fleeed the pressure, Mahomes lost the ball for a 23-yard gain to Demarcus Robinson. The third and seventh, he found Demetrius Harris in tight space for 35 yards to place the Chiefs in the red zone.
Mahomes tried to hit Travis Kelce in the end zone in the next game, but the ball was a bit late and the pass was incomplete. Kelce was finally injured in the game after a brutal blow from Darian Stewart, who ensured the safety of the Broncos.
Two games later, Kareem Hunt scored on a 4-yard physical run to put the Chiefs 27-23 ahead. Case Keenum and the Broncos zoomed in, but they failed to score the touchdown and the Chiefs sealed the deal to 4-0.
Denver is shot in the foot during a potential victory
Denver was on the verge of victory in the last race, but their last two games have been missed opportunities. Third and tenths of a second, 22 seconds from the end, Case Keenum missed a Demaryius Thomas (WIDE) open for what would have been the winning score.
Mahomes' reaction to the pitch sums up the feelings of almost every Chiefs fan.
On the Broncos, the last part of the game, you just have to see it for yourself. The game was to look like a hook and a ladder, but Courtland Sutton was hit while he was trying to direct the ball to Emmanuel Sanders. With the block that Devontae Booker put on the Chiefs' defensive back, Sanders might have thrown the ball for a touchdown if he had caught it.
The game was initially considered a fumble, then was overthrown. Either way, this is the wacky end of an exciting match.
After the match, head coach Andy Reid joined the fun and joked that Mahomes was throwing the ball with his left hand.
