Patriots could catch leaders with injuries in a timely manner | Patriots of New England

The Kansas City Chiefs' various solutions to current injury problems could provoke unpleasant flashbacks for the New England Patriots and their supporters on Sunday night.

While Eric Berry was still suffering from a heel injury that prevented him from entering the entire season, his replacement, Eric Murray, injured his ankle and Daniel Sorensen and Armani Watts on the injured reserve, the fourth security of Heads urgency is wide receiver Marcus Kemp. The Patriots forced the wide receivers to change sides in 2004, with Troy Brown as cornerback and 2011 with Julian Edelman in the slot and Matthew Slater safe.

Even if Kemp does not come into play Sunday night safely, the Patriots could still exploit the position. Jordan Lucas, one of the potential candidates for the Chiefs, was bought by the Miami Dolphins on August 31st. Josh Shaw, the current chief chiefs substitute, was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 6 and signed. October 2nd.

Chiefs safety Ron Parker was released by Kansas City on March 12 and spent the summer with the Atlanta Falcons before being eliminated on August 31. He joined the Chiefs on September 2nd.

Who on the patriots could enjoy a shallow security corps? Rob Gronkowski, wide receivers Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman, and running back James White come to mind.

From the point of view of New England, the situation of the chiefs in the right guard could be even more serious. With Laurent Duvernay-Tardif in the injured reserve, the offensive lineman of the Patriots, Jordan Devey, should begin. Not really. Look for him.

Devey, himself a renowned snorkelist, started four games for the Patriots in the right guard in 2014 when Dave DeGuglielmo coached the offensive line. This is one of the worst players that the Patriots have voluntarily developed in recent history. The Patriots only settled their offensive line problems this season when Devey was removed from the starting lineup. The sample size is small, but the Chiefs averaged 2.25 yards less per race with Devey on the field this season.

Defensive strikers Lawrence Guy, Malcom Brown and Danny Shelton should be able to master Devey in the first leg. Defensive linemen Adam Butler, Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise, as well as linebackers Dont'a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy could afford to abuse Devey's pass.

Perhaps the most serious injury to the Chiefs is that of linebacker Justin Houston. Houston, with defensive tackle Chris Jones and scorer Dee Ford, is one of the Chiefs' best defensemen.

Rookie Breeland Speaks is expected to replace Houston. But at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds, Speaks is less versatile in the game than Houston, whose mission is to get back into coverage more than most high-level passers.

Houston's injury could force Ford to cover more. Chiefs outside linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon is questionable in the clash of an ankle injury. Kpassagnon, like Speaks, is a bigger player with 6-foot-7 and 289-pound. The leaders also have Frank Zombo and Nate Orchard at the linebacker. Both players were added to the street this week.

Opposing teams averaged 0.22 yards more per run and 0.29 yards more per pass when Houston is off the field.

Chiefs' pass potential is limited with Houston. The more time Brady has, the more he can exploit this weakened security position.

The chefs are hot right now. But injuries could slow them down on "Football Sunday night".
