LeBron James and Paul George had conversations about Los Angeles before finding a new team.

Last summer, we only heard about potential signatures and rumors of swapping about some NBA superstars. The biggest name is obviously LeBron James and one of the other big stars is Paul George. Prior to 2017, George had joined Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony in Oklahoma City with the Thunder through trade. At the time, LeBron James was finishing the last year of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Not everyone knew it, Paul George had originally planned to join the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2018 off season. But his trade with the Indiana Pacers prevented that from happening. George is more than happy where he is right now. That's why he did not even give the Lakers the opportunity to try to sign him in the offseason.

Before George found a new love for the Thunder organization, he intended to join the Lakers. And LeBron James too, apparently. Recently, George gave an interview to ESPN's "The Undefeated" when he revealed that he and LeBron had had a brief conversation about the possibility of joining forces in the West with the Lakers.

PG and LeBron were plotting?

"But it was not exaggerated. I wanted to play in L.A. C is where I wanted to go. If this trade had never fallen, if I had played one more year at Indy, I would have been in Lakers uniform.

George also told The Undefeated that he had talked to James about his future plans before the Thunder trade when James was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they never had a similar conversation afterwards.

Although the conversations were brief and short-lived, George reveals pretty much that LeBron had every intention of leaving the West forever. Many of us had suspected it some time ago, but it is quite shocking to hear. Obviously, we know that George will not join LeBron in Los Angeles, but there could be a new superstar or two joining him in the next off season.

Los Angeles is now the new landing place for free agents, but potential veterans might be reluctant to play with LeBron. Cavaliers striker Kevin Love recently met ESPN, where it was clear that it was not easy to pass the man of a team in the shadow of LeBron at the next. So unless the players are willing to stand back from what King James showed in Los Angeles, we could see a lot of players moving away from the Lakers next year. It will certainly be an exciting summer.
