WASHINGTON – Paul Manafort's guilty plea will cost him more than time behind bars. His estate, located in the posh New York Hamptons neighborhood, will not wait for the ex-president of the Trump campaign. His Brooklyn brownstone will also be gone, as will his condo at Trump Tower in Manhattan.
Manafort also agreed to confiscate its bank accounts, life insurance and more as part of its plea deal on Friday. The confiscation agreement is final and can not be revoked, according to court documents.
He can keep his home at $ 1.25 million at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Manafort's lawyer, Kevin Downing, said his client had accepted the deal because he "wanted to make sure his family was able to stay safe and live a good life."

Manafort has agreed to divest its 5,564 square foot estate in the Hamptons community of Water Mill. Manafort will abandon the money from three of his bank accounts – two at the Federal Savings Bank and one at Capital One. Government statements do not specify how much money is in the accounts. He will abandon his universal life insurance policy Northwestern Mutual. In bail applications, Manafort said it had life insurance contracts of $ 4.5 million.
