Kim Kardashian-West awarded a prize to emergency services for wildfires and mass shootings in California.
Acceptance of the Best Reality TV Series Award at E! People's Choice Awards, she said, "We really appreciate what you have done for all of us."
She is one of many celebrities who have had to flee their homes as fires spread throughout the state.
An armed man also killed 12 people at a bar in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Sunday awards ceremony, Kim said, "Our country is stronger when we meet and we can not cope with the devastation alone.
"We must continue to reach out and help each other in these difficult times."

Firefighters attack three fires in California
At least 31 people have died and thousands of homes have been destroyed by fires in California.
The fires occur just days after 12 people – including a police officer – were killed by an armed man at a country music party in a state bar.
Kim said the award was dedicated to "all firefighters, law enforcement and first responders".
"We really appreciate what you have done for all of us, so keep praying for the safety of all."
Other winners of the evening include Scarlett Johansson, who won the movie star award for her role in Avengers: Infinity War, and Chadwick Boseman, movie star of the year for her role in Black Panther .
The BTS has won two awards – the year-long video clip for Idol and the 2018 social celebrity – while Nicki Minaj has won the Female Artist of the Year award and the # 39; s album of the year for Queen.
