Pearland ISD confirms preliminary diagnosis of tuberculosis

A person previously at Pearland ISD has a preliminary diagnosis of tuberculosis, according to a press release from PISD. The district did not confirm in the release if the person was a student, staff or visitor.

The district was notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services and is working with the Brazoria County Health Department to investigate the case, the release stated.


Parents of children that came into contact with the individual will be contacted by the health department.

“The wellbeing of all students and staff is important to Pearland ISD and we will continue to work diligently to ensure a healthy school environment,” the district stated in the release.
