Pelosi and Dems played against voters – again

When I was at elementary school in Chicago, I came home enthusiastically one day after spending the best time of my life.

It was in 1969, the Cubs were still in first place in the division and I took a place behind the Cubs dugout for Sunday's game against the Mets for only $ 1 by another student. My dad looked at the ticket, which was clearly handmade, and explained me with delicacy that I had been taken away. There was not even a match to play this Sunday in Wrigley.

He suggested, however, that I keep this post as a reminder of one of the greatest lessons in life: do not be an idiot.

As a result of the mid-term elections, millions of voters are about to discover the same thing: we have become a nation of scammers and both parties have sold us $ 1 of premium seats to a match that does not will not stand.

What is fascinating – even inspiring – about the US elections is that the two parties that make up our duopoly of power mark every two years with the same scam, with the same strengths. Politicians constantly persuade citizens to vote against the other party instead of advocating for their own reelection; Polls show that citizens despise the institutions of both parties and hate our rigged political system.

The two parties have once again made the blue / red swindle in which voters are convinced to choose the lesser of two immutable evils. It is designed to prevent the rise of a credible third party, allowing both parties to regularly exchange control between their respective leaders.

The elections are over and Washington is about to return to the status quo. The Senate re-elected the same leaders. At the same time, Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) – many of whom were dealing at arm's length during the campaign – entered a closed door caucus and received a standing ovation.

In due course, reports indicate that even new members who have campaigned against Pelosi join the rest of the Democratic members in providing ground support, as opposed to a caucus symbolic vote. Even Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, who has called for a "generation of new citizens" in Congress, now seems to be supporting her.

The key to a scam is to use the greed, weakness or anger of a brand to blind him to an obvious scam. In our time of rage, we were all brands in this election and were played wonderfully.

Pelosi has long been one of America's most unpopular politicians. Before the elections – with many races considered to be between 1 and 2 percentage points – voters cited Pelosi as one of the reasons they voted against the Democrats. Polls indicate that about 7% of voters said Pelosi was one of the top two reasons for their vote – almost exclusively against Democrats.

The number of seats that could have been overthrown if Mr Pelosi had promised that the new leaders would succeed the party if the Democrats won it in the House was not yet clear. Even if only 2% of voters had been affected, this could have been enough to change the results of a number of key races. However, Pelosi stands before the interests of his party.

Voters were assured that the many new members would insist on new leadership. These promises would seem easy to fill out, with post-election polls showing that 56 percent of Democrats oppose Pelosi as president. If account is taken of Republican and independent voters, Pelosi is perhaps the least popular candidate of the speaker in history.

So why are the Democrats pushing her to be the face of their party leading up to the 2020 elections? Because these elections are about them – certainly not the brands that vote. Pelosi will provide committee positions, campaign money and other benefits that some new leaders are unlikely to guarantee. She has spent months directing millions of people to these members. Voters simply give them votes; Pelosi gives them cold-hard money and other benefits.

Surveys showing a popularity of less than 40% with Pelosi, she and the Democratic establishment are redefining the results of the election, but not for the first time. Yet the Democratic leaders faked the primaries for Clinton – and were beaten by the Republic's most unpopular presidential candidate.

Given Pelosi's support for Clinton and the huge losses suffered in the previous election, while Pelosi was president, many have again called for his resignation. However, Pelosi said the voters really did not want change and she would remain as the face of the party. It was as simple as that. After the most anti-establishment elections in US history, Pelosi said the voters wanted her and the institution to stay in power.

Now, Pelosi and Democratic leaders say polls that show overwhelming opposition to it are totally wrong. She told CNN that she had a "broad base of support in the country" and that voters wanted her president because she is a woman. She described her opposition as sexist, a betrayal of voters who wanted a "pink wave". Asked about a letter from 17 members who pledged to oppose her, Pelosi told reporters that "you have to ask these people what their motivation is." I'm thinking of the 17, it's mostly about 14 men listed on this letter. "She added that" any misogyny involved is their problem, not mine. " It's not Trump, but Democratic colleagues Pelosi calls misogynist. The politics of identity, it seems, is like the god Saturn: she devours her youth.

Although recent polls indicate that only 39% of Democratic voters support the return of Pelosi, she should win it at a vote later this month.

Thus, creation will continue in both parts, despite overwhelming unpopularity. And just like the Cubs ticket, there was never a game to play.

Usually, it is difficult to score twice with the same scam. When a brand opens an envelope to find a wad of paper instead of cash, it leaves an indelible mark. American voters, however, fall for the same scam again and again. It's really not that the two parties are so good at it, it's us.

This standing ovation for Pelosi was well deserved. Any flimflam artist can take a mark, but it takes a real genius to deceive the same obstacles twice.
