Pending home sales rose 0.5% in September, but were lower than last year

Home sales rose slightly in September, but the pace is still lower than last year, affordability weighing on homebuyers. Contracts signed for the purchase of existing homes rose 0.5% from September, but were 1% lower than in September 2017, according to the National Association of Realtors. This is the ninth consecutive month of declining annual sales.
